We worked closely with a data analyst to discover the most interesting facts about daycare providers in Saskatoon.
74 daycare centers and home daycares in Saskatoon were analyzed.
We also analyzed over 300 daycare reviews.
Daycare licence status was not a factor in this study. Analysis results include both licensed and unlicensed daycares.
In this post, the word “daycare” is used to collectively refer to all the daycare providers that we analyzed.

- The city of Saskatoon has an average daycare rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.
- 43% of reviewed daycares have a 5 star average rating.
- There are no 1 star daycares in Saskatoon.
- 36% of Saskatoon daycares have zero reviews.
- 28% of Saskatoon daycares are wheelchair accessible.
- Building Brains Early Learning Centre has the most 5 star reviews.

Saskatoon Daycare Provider Statistics 2022
The City of Saskatoon has an average daycare rating of 4.7 stars.
When we added up the daycare ratings for all the Saskatoon daycares with at least one review and calculated their average, we found that the city of Saskatoon had an average daycare rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.
If Saskatoon daycares were hotels, they would be rated “upscale in comfort but short of glamorous” on average.
36% of Saskatoon daycares have no reviews.
36% of all the Saskatoon daycares that we analyzed had no ratings or reviews at all. Meaning, parents of enrolled children in these daycares have neither recommended nor disapproved of their daycare provider by posting an online review.
The lack of reviews in roughly 1 out of every 3 Saskatoon daycares could mean that the parents of enrolled children in these daycares are satisfied, but not impressed with their child’s daycare provider.
There are no 1 star daycares in Saskatoon
Of all the Saskatoon daycares with at least one review that we analyzed, zero daycares had an average rating of 1 star.
If Saskatoon daycares were hotels, no daycare would be rated as having just the bare necessities. The lowest rated daycare that we found in our analysis had a 2.7 star average daycare rating.
You’ve got a greater chance of being struck by lightning in Saskatoon than you do of selecting a daycare with an average rating of 1 star from our list of daycares with at least one review.
Saskatoon daycares receive 6.6 reviews on average
We added up the total number of reviews for the Saskatoon daycares that had received at least one review and calculated their average.
We found that Saskatoon daycares receive 6.6 reviews on average.
43% of reviewed daycares have a 5 star average rating
43% of the Saskatoon daycares with at least one review that we analyzed had an average daycare rating of 5 stars.
If you were to close your eyes and randomly pick 10 different daycares from our list of daycares that have received at least one review, about 4 of the selected daycares would have an average rating of 5 stars.
Building Brains Early Learning Centre has the most 5 star reviews
Building Brains Early Learning Centre stood out during our analysis for several reasons:
- With a total of sixty five 5-star reviews, Building Brains Early Learning Centre had the most 5 star reviews of all the Saskatoon daycares that we analyzed.
- With a total of 75 reviews, Building Brains Early Learning Centre had the highest number of reviews of all the daycares that we analyzed.
28% of Saskatoon daycares are wheelchair accessible
28% of the daycares that we analyzed claimed to be wheelchair accessible.
What is the best daycare in Saskatoon?
In our analysis, we found over 30 daycares in Saskatoon with a 5 star average rating.
However, each child and family has unique needs and daycare ratings and reviews alone are not sufficient in determining which daycare provider is the best for your child.
We recently published a list of the best daycare providers in Saskatoon. The list includes the best daycares in different categories such as the best Montessori, special needs, French speaking, and 24 hour daycares.
In a separate study, we discovered that daycares in Saskatoon have an average of 99 children on a waiting list.
Daycare in Saskatoon neighbourhoods
47% of Saskatoon neighbourhoods have a 5 star average rating
When we analyzed the daycare ratings of Saskatoon daycares on a neighbourhood by neighbourhood basis, we found that 47% of Saskatoon neighbourhoods had an average daycare rating of 5 stars.
Of the 38 neighbourhoods that we analyzed, 18 neighbourhoods in Saskatoon had an average daycare rating of 5 stars.
16% of Saskatoon neighbourhoods have no daycare reviews
16% of Saskatoon neighbourhoods with at least one daycare location that we analyzed had no daycare ratings or reviews at all.
Meaning, parents of enrolled children in the daycares in these neighbourhoods have neither recommended nor disapproved of their daycare provider by posting an online review.
Evergreen is the neighbourhood with the most daycare locations
The Evergreen neighbourhood had the highest number of daycare locations of all the Saskatoon neighbourhoods that we analyzed.
Airport Business Area is the neighbourhood with the most 5 star reviews
The Airport Business Area neighbourhood stood out during our analysis for several reasons:
- Airport Business Area had the most 5 star reviews of all the Saskatoon neighbourhoods that we analyzed.
- Airport Business Area had the highest number of total daycare reviews of all the neighbourhoods that we analyzed.
Which neighbourhoods provide the best daycare in Saskatoon?
If you’re planning on raising a family in Saskatoon, certain neighbourhoods stand out for providing better child care than others.
We added up the daycare ratings of the Saskatoon daycares that we analyzed on a neighbourhood by neighbourhood basis.
We then calculated the average daycare rating for each neighbourhood.

Methodology:
The data analysis and insights reported above were performed by a data analyst with an MBA with a focus in Business Analytics and Marketing Management. Mean, Median, and Mode data was determined using descriptive statistics to only consider data with values. Meaning, daycares without ratings were not included in mean, median, or mode of ratings. Pivot tables were the primary method for analysing data, such as: Borough v Average Rating, Borough v Sum of Reviews, Borough v Count of Verified, etc. A 3D Map was used to plot latitude and longitude. The data used in the above analysis was compiled on August 14, 2022.
